{"id":10264,"date":"2020-05-01T13:22:00","date_gmt":"2020-05-01T13:22:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lenochkabcreative.com\/index.php\/2020\/05\/01\/21-100-portraits-painting-akram-khan-for-paotw\/"},"modified":"2024-02-16T16:44:41","modified_gmt":"2024-02-16T14:44:41","slug":"21-100-portraits-painting-akram-khan-for-paotw","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lenochkabcreative.com\/index.php\/2020\/05\/01\/21-100-portraits-painting-akram-khan-for-paotw\/","title":{"rendered":"21\/100 Portraits: Painting Akram Khan for PAOTW"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Following a short break from painting portraits I had the opportunity to take part in a truly special experience painting in the company of Christabel Blackburn, winner of Portrait Artist of the Year 2020, and all the presenters and judgementals of Portrait Artist of the Year&#8230;&#8230;as well as 100s of other artists all over the world!!!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p>This fabulous live event was hosted by SkyTV and Portrait Artist of the Year on Facebook Live and we had 4 hours to complete our portrait.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I&#8217;m glad I took a screen photo of Akram so I could continue working as they chatted and took their breaks!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I have loved watching Portrait Artist of the Year but not living in the UK I never thought I would get to participate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This was a dream come true for me!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I didn&#8217;t really know what to expect but approached the whole event with joy and excitement, just glad and grateful that I would get the chance to paint in such great company!<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/lenochkabcreative.files.wordpress.com\/2020\/05\/mypaotw-1-3115-copy.jpg?w=960\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-10266\"\/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Akram Khan, gouache on paper<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>I&#8217;m so glad I have been practicing portrait painting since lockdown!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The practice helped me cope with the pressure of painting a portrait in 4 hours!
